Sonarr raspberry pi9/1/2023 ![]() Let me know what kind of torrents he wants to add, if its just movies and tv shows, because the telegram/discord bot would be the way to go there, and if its mostly games, then a home-vpn (if your setup allows) may be the option. There is also a discord bot to do this too, with more features. This is how I allow friends to add shows and movies to my Plex server. The other question, is your friend trying to add movies/shows to your torrent client? Or other things such as games? If its mostly movies and tv shows, there is a telegram bot that you can add to docker (mine runs on my pi and it can run under the VPN, so no port opening needed) and if you link it to sonarr/radarr you can have them use telegram, and text the bot the name of shows/movies. If you have a desktop computer, NAS, or something that's always on, you can use this method. I have a NAS that I installed a openvpn client on, and I was able to create a home VPN and on my phone, I just flip it on, login to my torrent client and I can manage/add clients. I have a raspberry pi that runs the VPN 24/7 and so I can't put my home VPN on that, because you cant run two at once. The way that I access my system, was through a home VPN. There is a setting when you setup portainer (assuming you're using docker) that makes it local, setting it to whatever the network option is, might solve the issue. I tried this and it was always closed for me. Maybe try one of those services and see if the port is accessible to the internet? Some services will try to contact that port on the ip you give it, and if you give it the mullvad ip with that port and see if it is able to see that its open. I had the EXACT same issue, and when I contacted Mullvad support, they basically said there's nothing they can do on their end. Honestly, I've tried myself and couldn't get it to work. I hope you are now willing to take the EASY journey to enjoying Piracy!! These GitHub projects are simple scripts i created to install these programs for you. If you want to install the containers for docker, check out my other GitHub project that has the scripts for installing those To install docker and Mullvad, follow my simple guide on my GitHub page that has the scripts i created: Jackett (website indexer for sonarr and radarr) My first script will install docker, along with mullvad, and the second will install programs such as I created scripts that will allow you to install all of these programs, without much effort. ![]() I recommended using Mullvad VPN because they are fantastic, and only cost like $5 a month. ![]() Once you have a device that has Linux on it, such as an old computer, or something like a raspberry pi, you need to install these programs, as well as a VPN so you're not getting DMCA notices for Torrenting. Radarr is the same thing as sonarr, just for movies instead. Sonarr is a program that automatically searches for tv shows you told it to, and will send downloads to your torrent client, so you'll have the files, and maybe after you can use a steaming service for you media such as Plex, embi, jellyfin, or Kodi. For example, instead of having to run program directly on the machine, you can have it run in a docker container, and you can modify, or delete it as you want, super easy since it's a container and not on bare metal. What do you need to get started? All you need is something like a Raspberry Pi, or you can even use a virtual machine, but i recommend a raspberry pi or an old computer that you can flash Linux onto.ĭocker is a program that allows you to have "containers" that host programs for you. Note, this guide is for Linux systems, specifically raspberry pi 's and other debian based distros. I'm writing this post to helpfully guide some new users into setting up some basics, and hopefully this encourages those who have yet to take the plunge, to take the plunge.
